CBSE 10th Date Sheet 2027: Class 10 Board Exam Time Table PDF

CBSE 10th date sheet 2027 is not out yet. See last year's Class 10 exam dates, timings, the two-exam system and how to download the PDF from cbse.gov.in.

CBSE Class 10 Date Sheet 2027 – Status, 2026 schedule & PDF steps

As of 19 October 2026, the CBSE 10th date sheet 2027 has not been released, either in tentative or final form. The newest sheets on its examination circulars page still belong to the 2026 cycle, and schools are only now submitting the List of Candidates under the 2026-27 LOC circular. Until the 2027 schedule is out, last year’s dates below are the best guide, and we will update this page the day CBSE publishes it.

  • CBSE Class 10 date sheet 2027: not released yet (status checked 19 October 2026).
  • Last year, the tentative 2026 date sheet came out on 24 September 2025. The final one followed on 30 October 2025.
  • Class 10 board exams 2026 (first exam): 17 February to 11 March 2026.
  • Second board exam 2026 (Class 10): 15 to 21 May 2026. Results were declared on 18 July 2026.
  • LOC for the 2027 exams: normal fee window 24 September to 21 October 2026. Late fee window: 22 to 30 October 2026.

When will the CBSE 10th date sheet 2027 come out? Last year’s timeline

For the 2026 exams, CBSE published its schedule early in the session. On 24 September 2025 it issued tentative date sheets for the Class X main exam, the Class XII main exam and the Class X second board exam, all together (circular No. F.31/CBSE/SPPS/2025). The circular explained that the dates were drawn from the Class IX and XI registration data. The idea was to let students plan their study and let schools and teachers plan their duties. It also said roughly 45 lakh candidates were expected to write 204 subjects, in India and in 26 countries abroad.

Please note that these date sheets are tentative.— CBSE circular dated 24.09.2025

The final date sheet came on 30 October 2025, after schools had submitted their candidate lists. On 31 December 2025 CBSE issued a revised version, which moved the papers that had been fixed for 3 March 2026 (revised Class X date sheet). For Class 10, the minor language and NCC papers from that day were shifted to 11 March 2026. So the 2026 sheet passed through three official versions. Keep that in mind when the 2027 sheet appears, and always check that you have the latest PDF.

CBSE Class 10 date sheet 2026 (for reference only)

This table is last year’s schedule for the first (main) board exam, taken from the revised Class X date sheet dated 31.12.2025. It is not the CBSE 10th date sheet 2027. Most papers ran from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM. Some skill subjects, along with Painting and the music papers, ran from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM.

Look at the spacing between the five core papers. Mathematics opened the series on 17 February. English came four days later, Science on 25 February, Hindi on 2 March and Social Science on 7 March. Nobody knows yet whether the CBSE 10th date sheet 2027 will follow the same order. Still, the 2026 sheet is a fair guide to how much breathing room the board usually leaves between major papers.

Two board exams for Class 10: how the system works

The 2026 batch was the first to sit two Class 10 board exams in a single academic year. CBSE announced the approved scheme on 25 June 2025. The LOC circular for 2027 refers to it as the “Two Board Policy dated 26.06.2025” and confirms that the same structure continues for 2027. In plain terms:

The first exam is compulsory for everyone

Every Class 10 student has to appear in the first board exam, which is held in February-March. The 2027 LOC that schools are filling now is for this first exam, and CBSE has told schools to include every Class 10 candidate in it. The LOC for the second exam is a separate step. It is filled only after the first exam is over. This applies to every CBSE-affiliated school, including the Maharishi Vidya Mandir branches spread across several states.

The second exam is optional and has limits

According to CBSE’s notification of 14 February 2026 (Notification No. 31/CBSE/CE/2-Board Examination-X/2026), the second exam is meant for:

  • Students who passed and want to improve their marks in up to three subjects from Science, Mathematics, Social Science and the languages.
  • Students placed in the Compartment category after the first exam, who take the second exam as their compartment attempt.
  • A few related categories, such as compartment-plus-improvement cases and students who passed after a subject replacement.

The notification also says that students cannot add extra subjects after passing Class 10, and that stand-alone subjects are not allowed. In the second exam, students can write only the subjects their school already filled in the LOC.

Important: A student who is absent in three or more subjects in the first exam cannot take the second exam. CBSE puts such students in the “Essential Repeat” category, and they can appear only in the main February exam of the following year. The board has said it will not entertain requests on this.

For reference, the 2026 second exam ran from 15 to 21 May 2026 as per the second exam date sheet dated 23 April 2026: Mathematics on 15 May, English on 16 May, Science on 18 May, Hindi and most regional languages on 19 May, Sanskrit, IT, AI and Painting on 20 May, and Social Science on 21 May. For regular students, the better of the two scores counts.

Practicals, internal assessment, LOC and admit card

  • LOC 2026-27: Schools submit it online. The normal fee for schools in India is ₹1,600 per candidate for five subjects, plus ₹320 for each additional subject, payable from 24 September to 21 October 2026. With a late fee of ₹2,000 per candidate, the window runs from 22 to 30 October 2026. After this, CBSE will generate data verification slips, and corrections are allowed from 2 to 4 November 2026. These figures come from Annexure A and page 10 of the LOC circular.
  • Practicals and internal assessment: The 2027 schedule has not been notified yet. Last session, CBSE’s practical examination guidelines of 1 December 2025 set the window as 1 January to 14 February 2026 for regular schools and 6 November to 6 December 2025 for winter-bound schools. Marks are uploaded on the day of the assessment.
  • Admit card: Regular students usually get their admit card from their school, which downloads them from CBSE. The release date for 2027 has not been announced. For reference, CBSE’s notice on admit cards for the 2026 second exam was dated 5 May 2026, ten days before that exam began.
  • Private candidates: CBSE issued separate notices on 7 October 2026 for private candidates in Class X. Read the notice itself on the circulars page for the dates and fee.

How to download the CBSE 10th date sheet 2027 PDF

When the schedule is published, it will appear as a signed PDF on the CBSE website. These steps work on a phone as well as a computer. Release updates also appear in our education news section.

  1. Open the official site. Go to www.cbse.gov.in. Use only this address and ignore links forwarded on WhatsApp.
  2. Go to the circulars. Open Examination Circulars, or the Latest Announcements on the home page, and find the date sheet section.
  3. Pick the right file. Look for a title such as “Date Sheet for Class X Board Examinations 2027”. Check whether it says tentative, final or revised, and check the date.
  4. Download and check. Open the PDF and confirm the subject codes against your registration (for example, 041 for Mathematics Standard and 241 for Mathematics Basic).
  5. Keep a copy and check again later. Save it, but look at the site again before the exams begin. As 2026 showed, a revised sheet can follow.

Exam-day rules for the Class 10 board exam

CBSE has not issued exam-day instructions for 2027 yet. The rules it used in 2026 are the ones to plan around.

  • Papers started at 10:30 am. CBSE’s advisory of 13 February 2026 asked students to reach the centre on or before 10:00 am and said entry would be allowed only up to 10:00 am.
  • The same advisory asked families to leave home early to allow for traffic, route diversions and weather, and to visit the centre beforehand.
  • Carry the admit card every day. The full list of instructions is printed on the card itself.
  • When the question paper is handed out, check that it matches the subject on your admit card. CBSE sent schools a separate circular on 14 February 2026 on giving each student the paper that matches the admit card. In Class 10 this matters most for Mathematics Standard (041) versus Basic (241) and Hindi Course A versus Course B.
  • Leave phones, smartwatches and any electronic gadget at home.

Practicals and internal assessment: how marks are split

For most Class 10 subjects, 20 of the 100 marks are already decided before the theory paper. CBSE’s practical exam guidelines of 1 December 2025 list the split subject by subject. The common ones:

Computer Applications and most skill subjects5050 (practical)
Home Science7030 (practical)
NCC7030 (internal assessment)
Music and Painting3050 practical + 20 internal assessment

A few rules from the same guidelines are worth knowing:

  • Class 10 practicals are conducted by the school. CBSE does not appoint an external examiner for Class 10, unlike Class 12.
  • Marks are uploaded on the day the assessment is held, and no correction is allowed once they are uploaded.
  • A student who misses a practical can be rescheduled only within the window CBSE has notified. After that, the student is marked absent. CBSE said it would not entertain requests beyond the schedule.
  • Practical marks are not disclosed to students.

Admit card: what to check when you get it

Regular students do not download the admit card themselves; the school downloads it from CBSE and hands it over. Private candidates download theirs from the CBSE website. Only students whose names are submitted through the online LOC can sit the 2027 exam, as the LOC circular makes clear.

When the card reaches you, read it line by line: your name and parents’ names, date of birth, photograph, roll number, each subject name and code, and the centre address. Report any mistake to the school office the same day.

A study timeline that fits the February 2027 window

Exact dates will come with the date sheet. The outline below follows CBSE’s calendar and last year’s pattern. Students at CBSE-affiliated MVM schools can set it beside the MVM syllabus and exam pattern their school follows.

WhenWhat to do
Now to 21 October 2026Check the subject names and codes your school is entering in the LOC. Changes are not entertained after submission.
November to December 2026Finish the syllabus, sit school pre-boards and start the first round of revision with CBSE sample papers from cbseacademic.nic.in.
January to mid-February 2027Practicals and internal assessment (if the 2026 pattern holds). Keep one timed paper a day going in the main subjects.

If two dates clash, or you miss a paper

CBSE builds the date sheet from registration data so that common subject combinations do not overlap. Clashes are rare, but they do happen with unusual combinations, for example a skill subject alongside a less common language. If you find one:

  1. Check that you are reading the latest version. In 2026 a paper fixed for 3 March was moved by a revised sheet on 31 December 2025.
  2. Tell your school at once, preferably while the sheet is still tentative. The school takes it up with the CBSE regional office; students cannot get dates changed on their own.
  3. If you fall ill and miss a paper, the second board exam in May is the route back, within the limits explained above. Remember the three-subject rule for absence.

How to spot a fake CBSE 10th date sheet

  • The real one is posted first on the CBSE website, on the home page and the Examination Circulars page. In 2026 every version sat under the address www.cbse.gov.in/cbsenew/documents/.
  • It is a PDF with a reference number, date and an officer’s signature on the covering letter, and it says clearly whether it is tentative, final or revised.
  • Subject codes are printed against every paper. A forwarded image without codes or a reference number is not an official sheet.
  • If a “2027 date sheet” reaches you on WhatsApp before it is on cbse.gov.in, treat it as fake. CBSE issued an advisory in March 2026 warning of legal action over misleading social media posts.
