The CBSE 12th date sheet 2027 is not out yet. As of 19 October 2026, the board has issued neither a tentative nor a final version. Schools are still registering students under the 2026-27 LOC circular (normal fee till 21 October, late fee till 30 October 2026), and the date sheet is built from that list. Until it arrives, the 2026 paper dates below, arranged by stream, are last year’s reference.
CBSE 12th date sheet 2027: how last year’s schedule unfolded
Until the CBSE 12th date sheet 2027 arrives, last year’s sequence is the best guide to the coming weeks. Each date below is from a signed CBSE circular or press release.
Science stream: 2026 paper dates
These are 2026 dates from the revised Class XII date sheet dated 31.12.2025 (official PDF). Theory papers ran 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM unless noted.

| Date (2026) | Paper | Code |
|---|---|---|
| Fri, 20 February | Physics | 042 |
| Sat, 28 February | Chemistry | 043 |
| Mon, 9 March | Mathematics / Applied Mathematics | 041 / 241 |
| Wed, 25 March | Computer Science / Informatics Practices | 083 / 065 |

| Wed, 25 March | Informatics Practices | 065 |
| Sat, 28 March | Business Studies / Business Administration | 054 / 833 |
| Wed, 8 April | Taxation | 822 |
Accountancy came early on 24 February. After it, commerce students had a long run: 13 days to Mathematics, 9 more to Economics and 10 more to Business Studies. In practice, the gaps were long enough to revise each paper properly.
Humanities (Arts) stream: 2026 paper dates
| Date (2026) | Paper | Code |
|---|---|---|
| Thu, 26 February | Geography | 029 |
| Fri, 27 February | Painting, Graphics, Sculpture, Applied Art (10:30 AM to 12:30 PM) | 049 to 052 |

| Mon, 6 April | Knowledge Tradition & Practices of India | 073 |
| Wed, 8 April | Sanskrit Core | 322 |
| Fri, 10 April | Legal Studies | 074 |
Humanities students had the longest season in 2026. A student taking Political Science, History and Sociology had papers on 23 March, 30 March and 4 April, which kept them busy well into April.
Papers common to all streams in 2026
- English Core and English Elective (301, 001): Thursday, 12 March 2026
- Hindi Core and Hindi Elective (302, 002): Monday, 16 March 2026
- Physical Education (048): Wednesday, 18 February 2026

Skill subjects and other languages were spread across the full window from 17 February to 10 April. The official PDF linked above lists all of them.
Practicals, LOC fees and admit cards
Practical exams for 2027 have not been scheduled yet. Last session, CBSE’s guidelines of 1 December 2025 fixed 1 January to 14 February 2026 for practicals, projects and internal assessment in regular schools. Winter-bound schools had 6 November to 6 December 2025. Marks were uploaded on the day of each assessment.
The 2026-27 LOC circular sets these fees for Class XII candidates in India: ₹1,600 per candidate for five subjects, ₹320 for each additional subject, and ₹160 per practical subject. The normal-fee window is 24 September to 21 October 2026. With a ₹2,000 late fee per candidate, schools can still register students from 22 to 30 October 2026. After that, the board will issue data verification slips, and errors in name, date of birth or subjects can be corrected only from 2 to 4 November 2026. CBSE has said that no change of subject will be considered after the LOC is submitted, so check your subject codes now. Class 12 students at the CBSE-affiliated Maharishi Vidya Mandir schools go through this same LOC process via their school office.

No date has been announced for 2027 admit cards. Regular students usually receive theirs from their school.
How Class 12 practicals are marked
Class 12 practicals are run differently from Class 10. Under CBSE’s 2026 practical guidelines, only an external examiner appointed by the Board can conduct a Class 12 practical, and the school cannot arrange a substitute locally. Each batch is photographed in the laboratory with the students, the external and internal examiners and the observer, and the software checks that the photo is geotagged and time-stamped.
The split between theory and practical depends on the subject. These are the 2026 figures from the same document:

| Class 12 subjects | Theory | Practical / project / IA |
|---|---|---|
| Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Computer Science, Informatics Practices | 70 | 30 practical |
| Mathematics and most languages | 80 | 20 internal assessment or project |
| History, Political Science, Economics, Sociology, Business Studies, Accountancy | 80 | 20 project / internal assessment |
| Most vocational subjects | 60 | 40 practical |
| Most Music and Dance subjects | 30 | 50 or 70 practical, plus IA where listed |
Three rules catch students out every year. Marks go online the same day and cannot be corrected later. A student absent from a practical can be given another date only inside the notified window; outside it, the entry is “Absent” and CBSE does not consider special requests. And trying to influence an examiner is treated as unfair means, which the examiner must report to the regional office.
CBSE 12th exam day: timing and conduct
Most Class 12 theory papers in 2026 ran from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm, with a few two-hour papers (the Painting group, for example) ending at 12:30 pm. CBSE’s advisory of 13 February 2026 set the reporting time at 10:00 am and said entry would be allowed only up to 10:00 am. It also told students to plan for traffic and route diversions and to see the centre in advance.
- Carry the admit card to every paper. Regular students get it from the school.
- Check the question paper against your admit card before you write anything. Mathematics (041) and Applied Mathematics (241) share a date, and so do Computer Science (083) and Informatics Practices (065). CBSE wrote to schools on 14 February 2026 about matching every paper to the admit card.
- No mobile phone, smartwatch or other electronic device. Leave them at home rather than with a friend at the gate.
Admit card and private candidates
The LOC circular says plainly that only students whose names are submitted through the online LOC will be allowed to appear in 2026-27. So the admit card is the final print of what your school entered this month. When it arrives, compare your name, parents’ names, date of birth, photograph, subjects and subject codes, and the centre address. Take any mismatch to the school office the same day.
Private candidates apply separately. CBSE published a notice on 7 October 2026 for Class XII private candidates, and the application runs through the private candidate portal. Private candidates download their own admit card from the CBSE website when it is released; for the 2026 exams, theirs were out in January.
Planning backwards from February 2027
The theory exams should begin in February if CBSE follows the 2026 pattern, which started on 17 February and ran into April. That leaves about 17 weeks from 19 October. A workable split, which MVM students can set beside the MVM syllabus and exam pattern followed in their school:
| Period | Science | Commerce | Humanities |
|---|---|---|---|
| Late Oct to Nov 2026 | Finish Physics and Chemistry syllabus; complete practical files | Finish Accountancy and Business Studies; project work | Finish Political Science and History; project files |
| Dec 2026 | Pre-boards; first full revision | Pre-boards; first full revision | Pre-boards; first full revision |
| Jan to mid-Feb 2027 | Practicals with external examiner; timed papers | Projects and IA; timed papers | Projects and IA; timed papers |
| After the date sheet | Use the gaps between PCM/PCB papers for full mock papers | Plan around Accountancy and Economics dates | Humanities finished last in 2026; keep the April papers in view |
Science students also preparing for entrance tests should note that those dates are set by the National Testing Agency, not CBSE. Check them on nta.ac.in rather than assuming they will avoid the board calendar.
Two papers on one day? What to do about a clash
With so many Class 12 combinations, a clash is possible for a student with an unusual mix of electives or a vocational subject. CBSE builds the sheet from registration data to avoid overlaps for common combinations, which is one reason it insists on correct subject codes in the LOC.
- Confirm you have the newest file. In 2026 the final sheet was followed by a revised one on 31 December 2025.
- Report the clash to your school while the sheet is still tentative. Only the school can take it to the regional office.
- For national or international sports events, CBSE has a precedent: in March 2026 it issued a separate date sheet for Class XII sports participants.
- If a paper is missed or not cleared, the supplementary exam in July is the next chance. The 2026 supplementary date sheet was issued on 17 July 2026.
Checking that a date sheet is genuine
Fake timetables spread fastest in the week before the real one appears. A genuine CBSE date sheet is a PDF on cbse.gov.in, under the /cbsenew/documents/ folder, with a reference number, a date and a signed covering letter. It lists subject codes against every paper and says whether it is tentative, final or revised. Check the class and the exam too: the 9 October 2026 file for West Asia special exams is real, but it is not the CBSE 12th date sheet 2027. Anything that turns up on WhatsApp before it is on cbse.gov.in should be ignored. CBSE has warned of legal action over misleading posts in a March 2026 advisory.
How to download the CBSE 12th date sheet 2027 from cbse.gov.in
- Open www.cbse.gov.in. Keep an eye on the latest announcements on the home page.
- Or go straight to the Examination Circulars page. Date sheets are listed there with their release dates.
- Choose the Class XII file for the 2027 board examinations. Check whether it is marked tentative, final or revised.
- Download the PDF and find each of your subjects by code rather than by name. Codes are printed on your registration slip (Physics is 042, Accountancy is 055, History is 027, and so on).
- Write your dates into a calendar, then check the circulars page again before February. In 2026, one Class XII paper moved in a revision issued on 31 December.
Class 10 students can check the separate CBSE 10th date sheet 2027 page, and timetables for other boards are listed in our board exams section. We will add the CBSE 12th date sheet 2027 here on the day the board publishes it and flag it in our education news updates.
