Karnataka has put its Class 10 board exam calendar on the table more than five months before the first paper. The Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB) uploaded the Karnataka SSLC time table 2027 on 8 October 2026, and it covers both attempts: SSLC Examination-1 from Monday, 22 March to Monday, 5 April 2027, and Examination-2 from Monday, 24 May to Monday, 31 May 2027. Both schedules carry the word “tentative” in their title. They are drafts, open to objections from students, parents and the public until 22 October 2026, and the board can still move papers before it issues the final version.
We read both PDFs on the board’s website, the Kannada covering circular and the English tables, and set out the full schedule below along with the timings, subject codes, the rules printed under the tables and the exact way to send an objection. Dates are given exactly as KSEAB printed them. Where the board has not yet said something, we say so.
- Status: tentative timetable, dated 8 October 2026 (KSEAB letter No. C1/SSLC/Pa.Ve.Pa-2027/53/2026-27)

Karnataka SSLC Time Table 2027: Exam-1 (March–April)
Exam-1 is the main attempt that every regular Class 10 student in the state will take. It opens with the first language on 22 March and ends with Social Science on 5 April. Only seven days in that fortnight carry a written paper, which leaves useful gaps before most of the core subjects.

The table below follows the English version of the board’s timetable. Subject codes are in brackets, since schools and hall tickets use them.
| Date and day | Subject (code) | Time | Max marks |
|---|---|---|---|
| 22 March 2027, Monday | First language: Kannada (01), Telugu (04), Hindi (06), Marathi (08), Tamil (10), Urdu (12), English (14), English NCERT (15), Sanskrit (16) | 10.00 AM to 1.15 PM | 100 |
| 25 March 2027, Thursday | Core subject: Science (83); Political Science* (97) | 10.00 AM to 1.15 PM | 80 |
| 25 March 2027, Thursday | Hindustani Music* (28), Carnatic Music* (29) | 2.00 PM to 5.15 PM | 80 |
| 27 March 2027, Saturday | Second language: English (31), Kannada (33) | 10.00 AM to 1.00 PM | 80 |
| 30 March 2027, Tuesday | Core subject: Mathematics (81); Sociology* (95) | 10.00 AM to 1.15 PM | 80 |
| 2 April 2027, Friday | Third language: Hindi NCERT (60), Hindi (61), Kannada (62, repeaters only), English (63), Arabic (64), Urdu (66), Sanskrit (67), Konkani (68), Tulu (69), Marathi (70) | 10.00 AM to 1.00 PM | 80 |
| 2 April 2027, Friday | NSQF: Information Technology (86), Retail (87), Automobile (88), Beauty and Wellness (90), Apparel Made-ups and Home Furnishing (21), Electronics and Hardware (22) | 10.00 AM to 12.15 PM | 60 |
| 3 April 2027, Saturday | JTS: Elements of Electrical Engineering-IV (51), Elements of Mechanical Engineering-IV (52), Elements of Electronics Engineering-IV (53), Programming in ANSI C (54); Economics* (96) | 10.00 AM to 1.15 PM | 80 |
| 5 April 2027, Monday | Core subject: Social Science (85) | 10.00 AM to 1.15 PM | 80 |
| 6 April 2027, Tuesday | JTS practical and oral exams (subjects 56, 57, 58, 59) at the student’s own school | As fixed by the school | Not stated |
Subjects marked with an asterisk (*) are not extra papers for everyone. The board’s instruction sheet lists Sociology (95), Economics (96), Political Science (97), Hindustani Music (28) and Carnatic Music (29) as alternate subjects and codes for differently abled candidates.
Paper timings and how the 15 minutes work
The timetable splits papers into three lengths. For the first language, the core subjects (Science, Mathematics, Social Science) and the JTS subjects, students get 3 hours to write plus 15 minutes to read the question paper, which is why these papers run from 10.00 AM to 1.15 PM. The second and third languages get 2 hours 45 minutes of writing time plus the same 15 minutes of reading, so they finish at 1.00 PM. NSQF vocational papers are the shortest: 2 hours of writing and 15 minutes of reading, from 10.00 AM to 12.15 PM.
Music is the only afternoon slot. Hindustani and Carnatic Music run from 2.00 PM to 5.15 PM, but the instructions split that window in two: the theory paper from 2.00 PM to 3.45 PM and the practical from 3.45 PM to 5.15 PM.
Days with no paper in Exam-1
The board has marked every blank day on the sheet rather than leaving students to work it out. There is no exam on 23 and 24 March (Tuesday and Wednesday), on 26 March because of Good Friday, on 29 March (Monday), or on 31 March and 1 April (Wednesday and Thursday). The two Sundays, 28 March and 4 April, are listed as holidays.
In practice that means two clear days before Science, two before Mathematics (Sunday plus Monday), and two before the third language. Social Science, the last core paper, comes after a Sunday break following the JTS and Economics papers on 3 April.
SSLC Exam-2 Schedule for May 2027
Exam-2 is far more compressed. Everything is packed into eight days, from 24 May to 31 May 2027, with only one Sunday off. The paper order is almost the same as in March, with one change: Social Science comes on Saturday, 29 May, ahead of the JTS and Economics papers on 31 May, instead of at the very end.
| Date and day | Subject (code) | Time | Max marks |
|---|---|---|---|
| 24 May 2027, Monday | First language: Kannada (01), Telugu (04), Hindi (06), Marathi (08), Tamil (10), Urdu (12), English (14), English NCERT (15), Sanskrit (16) | 10.00 AM to 1.15 PM | 100 |
| 25 May 2027, Tuesday | Science (83); Political Science* (97) | 10.00 AM to 1.15 PM | 80 |
| 25 May 2027, Tuesday | Hindustani Music* (28), Carnatic Music* (29) | 2.00 PM to 5.15 PM | 80 |
| 26 May 2027, Wednesday | Second language: English (31), Kannada (33) | 10.00 AM to 1.00 PM | 80 |
| 27 May 2027, Thursday | Mathematics (81); Sociology* (95) | 10.00 AM to 1.15 PM | 80 |
| 28 May 2027, Friday | Third language: codes 60 to 70 (same list as Exam-1) | 10.00 AM to 1.00 PM | 80 |
| 28 May 2027, Friday | NSQF subjects: codes 86, 87, 88, 90, 21, 22 | 10.00 AM to 12.15 PM | 60 |
| 29 May 2027, Saturday | Social Science (85) | 10.00 AM to 1.15 PM | 80 |
| 31 May 2027, Monday | JTS subjects (51 to 54); Economics* (96) | 10.00 AM to 1.15 PM | 80 |
| 1 June 2027, Tuesday | JTS practical and oral exams (subjects 56 to 59) at the student’s school | As fixed by the school | Not stated |
Who will write Exam-2?
The timetable itself does not say who is eligible for Exam-2, and KSEAB has not yet published the 2027 Exam-2 registration circular. In 2024, for instance, the board put out a separate Exam-2 circular after the Exam-1 results, covering students who had to repeat a subject and those who wanted better marks. Until the 2027 notice arrives, treat Exam-2 eligibility and fees as not announced yet.
Only Two Exams on the 2027 Calendar
KSEAB’s 8 October circular releases timetables for only two SSLC and PUC attempts in 2027, Examination-1 and Examination-2, and does not mention a third exam. TV9 Kannada reported on 17 October 2026 that the school education department plans to hold two main exams this year instead of the three held over the past two years, citing last year’s record pass results. The board has not published a separate order on this so far, so treat the change as reported, not officially notified, until KSEAB confirms it.

For a Class 10 student, the practical effect is simple. March is the real exam. May is the second chance. The board has not announced any third window for 2027, so as things stand, anyone who skips or fails a paper in March has one more shot, in May.
How to Object to the Karnataka SSLC Time Table 2027
This is the part of the notice most people skip, and it matters right now. The Kannada covering circular says the tentative SSLC and second PUC timetables were published on the board’s website on 8 October 2026, and that students, parents and members of the public have 15 days, from 8 October to 22 October 2026, to send objections.
SSLC objections go only by email to [email protected]. (Second PUC objections have a separate address, [email protected].) The circular states clearly that objections received after the last date will not be considered.

Sending an objection, step by step
- Open the tentative Exam-1 or Exam-2 PDF on kseab.karnataka.gov.in and note the exact date, day and subject code you are objecting to.
- Write a short email to [email protected]. Put “SSLC 2027 Exam-1 tentative timetable: objection” (or Exam-2) in the subject line.
- In the body, give the student’s name, school and district, the paper concerned, the reason, and the change you are asking for.
- Attach proof if the reason depends on it, for example a local festival notice or a clash with another exam.
- Send it on or before 22 October 2026 and keep a copy of the sent email.
What makes a useful objection
The board does not list acceptable grounds, so the steps above are our own suggestions. An objection is easier for the board to act on when it is specific: a regional festival or local holiday that falls on a paper date, two papers that a particular subject combination would have to write on the same day, or a clash with another public exam. A general request for more study days gives the board little to work with.
The Fine Print Under the Tables
Nine instructions sit under the Exam-1 and Exam-2 tables. Most students will need only two or three of them, but a few are easy to miss.
Codes 15 and 60 are for Adarsha Vidyalaya students
English NCERT (code 15) as a first language and Hindi NCERT (code 60) as a third language apply only to students studying in Adarsha Vidyalayas. Everyone else writes the regular codes.
Extra time for differently abled students
Differently abled children get 60 extra minutes for a 3-hour paper, 50 minutes for a 2 hours 30 minutes paper, 40 minutes for a 2-hour paper and 30 minutes for a 1 hour 30 minutes paper. The alternate subjects for these candidates are Sociology (95), Economics (96), Political Science (97), Hindustani Music (28) and Carnatic Music (29), which is why those names appear with an asterisk in the tables.
JTS practical and oral exams
Students of the Junior Technical School stream write their theory papers with everyone else, but their practical and oral exams for subjects 56, 57, 58 and 59 are held at their own schools: on Tuesday, 6 April 2027 for Exam-1 and on Tuesday, 1 June 2027 for Exam-2.
SSLC Exam-1 Registration Is Already Open
A day after the timetables went up, KSEAB issued a circular dated 9 October 2026 asking every government, aided and unaided high school to upload its students’ details for the March 2027 SSLC Exam-1 through the school login on the board’s website. The window runs from 9 October to 11 November 2026.
Most of each student’s details, including name, father’s and mother’s names, date of birth, category, religion, gender and medium, are pulled from the SATS database. The circular says these cannot be corrected on the board’s portal; any mistake has to be fixed in SATS first and only then registered. Schools also have to upload a scanned photo (20 to 80 KB) and signature (20 to 50 KB) in JPEG format, saved under the student’s SATS number. OBC students seeking a fee waiver need the RD number of their caste and income certificates, and differently abled students can enter their UDID number.
So if you are a regular student, your school does the registration, but ask your class teacher to show you the details that went in. A spelling error caught in October is a SATS correction; caught after the marks card is printed, it becomes a much longer process. Private fresh candidates and repeaters register separately through the SSLC private and repeater registration page linked from the KSEAB home page, which also carries a circular on the revised SSLC exam fee for 2026-27.
The same home page has the board’s notice on the 2026-27 NMMS scholarship exam for Class 8 students. We have covered that national scheme separately in our NMMS Scholarship 2026-27 guide.
How to Download the Tentative Timetable PDF
- Go to kseab.karnataka.gov.in and choose English or Kannada.
- Under News and Events, find “2027 SSLC Examination-1 Tentative Time table” and “2027 SSLC Examination-2 Tentative Time table”.
- Open each link. The PDF has six pages: the covering circular in Kannada first, then the timetable in Kannada, then the English timetable with the instructions.
- Save it, and check your school notice board as well. The circular asks every high school head to display the timetable there.
Planning Revision Around the Exam-1 Gaps
The free days between papers are where most last-minute revision actually happens. Going by the Exam-1 dates in the tentative Karnataka SSLC time table 2027, this is how the March–April window breaks down for a student writing the usual six subjects.
- Before 22 March: the first language paper carries 100 marks, the highest of any paper, so it deserves a full revision cycle in the last week of February and the first weeks of March.
- 23 and 24 March: two days for Science, the first core paper on 25 March.
- 26 March (Good Friday): one day for the second language on 27 March.
- 28 and 29 March: a Sunday and a Monday for Mathematics on 30 March.
- 31 March and 1 April: two days for the third language on 2 April.
- 3 and 4 April: students without a JTS or Economics paper on 3 April get two full days for Social Science on 5 April.
If the final timetable keeps these dates, Science and Mathematics will each have two days of breathing room in March. In May, neither will. That is one more reason to treat Exam-1 as the attempt that counts. Students who are also tracking other boards for siblings or friends can compare this schedule with the CBSE Class 10 date sheet 2027, the ICSE Class 10 time table 2027 and the UP Board 10th time table 2027; all our board coverage sits on the Board Exams page.
