Maharishi Vidya Mandir Chetpet Admission 2027-28: Pre-KG Dates

Parents in and around Chetpet have a short window to act. The Maharishi Vidya Mandir Chetpet admission notice for Pre-KG, academic year 2027-28, is up on the school’s website, and online registration runs only from 22 October to 27 October 2026. After that, things move quickly: certificate verification on 28–30 October, the selected list on 2 November and fee payment until 7 November. If your child was born between 1 October 2023 and 30 September 2024 and you live within 3 km of the campus on Dr. Guruswamy Road, this is the cycle that matters.

We went through the school’s 2027-28 notice line by line, set it against last year’s notice for comparison, and pulled the current fee chart from the same website. Here is what it says, and what it does not.

Maharishi Vidya Mandir Chetpet Admission 2027-28: The Pre-KG Schedule

The school, a CBSE-affiliated senior secondary school (affiliation no. 1930111) at Maharishi Gardens, 28, Dr. Guruswamy Road, Chetpet, Chennai 600031, has published five dates. All of them fall within about two and a half weeks, so there is very little room for a parent who misses one step.

The notice does not give a seat count, a time slot for verification or a list of reserved categories. Those details, if they exist, will reach parents only through the school’s own communication.

How the 2027-28 dates compare with last year

The online window has not moved. For 2026-27 too, the form opened on 22 October 2025 and closed on 27 October 2025. What has changed is the back end of the process. Last year, documents were verified from 3 to 5 November, the selected list was due on 10 November and fees were collected from 10 to 14 November. This time the verification begins the very next day after the form closes, and the whole exercise wraps up a week earlier.

Last year’s selected list gives a sense of scale. The PDF, titled for “The Tree MVM’s Pre School” and dated 9 November 2025, named 160 provisionally selected children and told parents to pay fees on or before 14 November 2025 to confirm the seat. There is no guarantee that the number will be the same for 2027-28.

Who Can Apply: Age, the 3 km Rule and the Draw of Lots

Eligibility for this cycle rests on three conditions, and the school is strict about all three. A child who misses any one of them will not be considered, however early the form was filled.

The date-of-birth window

Only children born between 1 October 2023 and 30 September 2024 may register. Put simply, the child should be two years old, and not yet three, on 30 September 2026. A child born on 1 October 2024 is too young for this round, and one born on 30 September 2023 is too old for Pre-KG. The school has also said it will check every birth certificate with the local body that issued it, and any mismatch will lead to cancellation even after admission.

The 3 km residence rule

The family must live within a 3 km radius of the school. The notice is clear that the distance is worked out by the school and that its figure is final. So a parent who reads 2.9 km on a maps app should not treat that as settled. Your address proof must match the address you enter in the online form; that is the only address the school will measure.

When applications exceed seats

Admission is subject to seat availability. If the school receives more applications than it has seats, selection will be by drawal of lots. There is no entrance test or interview mentioned for Pre-KG, which is different from the written test some MVM schools in other states hold for higher classes (we explain that format in our MVM entrance exam guide).

How to Apply for Maharishi Vidya Mandir Chetpet Admission Online

Registration is online only. As of 19 October 2026, the 2027-28 page carries the dates and rules but no live form link; going by last year’s page, the “Click here for the online application form” link is expected to appear on the same page when the window opens. Once it is live, follow this order:

1. Open mvmschoolschetpet.com and go to Flash News, then “PREKG Admissions for 2027-28”.
2. From 22 October 2026, click the online application link on that page. Do not print the form that opens; it has to be filled on screen.
3. Enter the child’s details exactly as they appear on the birth certificate, and the residential address exactly as it appears on the address proof you plan to show.
4. Read the whole form once more before you press submit. The school says submitted details cannot be altered.
5. Click submit and keep the confirmation mail. You may print it for your records, but it only confirms registration and gives no right to admission.
6. Wait for an official communication. Only those who receive it should come for certificate verification between 28 and 30 October 2026, with the duly filled-in forms and photographs.
7. Check the school website on 2 November 2026 for the selected list and pay the fees between 2 and 7 November 2026 if your child’s name appears.

Documents for Certificate Verification

In the Maharishi Vidya Mandir Chetpet admission notice, documents come up only at the verification stage, which means they matter once your child is shortlisted. You will then need the originals along with a photocopy of each:

• Birth certificate of the child
• Community certificate
• Income certificate
• Address proof, any one of these only: family card (ration card), Aadhaar card, passport, driving licence, or a certificate of residence issued by the VAO

Keep a couple of recent passport-size photographs of the child ready too, since the notice asks shortlisted parents to come with photographs. If you are still waiting for a community or income certificate from the taluk office, apply now; the verification dates leave no time for a fresh application.

Fees: What Parents Paid in 2026-27

The school has not put up a 2027-28 fee chart yet. Its admission section currently shows the “School Fees Structure 2026–2027”, which gives parents a fair idea of the outlay for the early years:

What About LKG and Other Classes?

So far, only the Pre-KG notice for 2027-28 is out. LKG ran as a separate process last year. The LKG 2026-27 form opened on 23 October 2025 at 7:00 AM for children born between 1 October 2021 and 30 September 2022, and it had sibling and alumni categories, with a personal meeting intimated by email. Parents were asked for the child’s Aadhaar, the parents’ PAN card, the parent’s Class 12 mark sheet and TC for the alumni category, and the elder child’s ID or handbook certificate for the sibling category.

Whether the 2027-28 LKG round follows the same pattern has not been announced yet. If you are aiming for LKG, keep an eye on the Flash News strip on the home page from the last week of October. For classes I and above, the website has no 2027-28 notice at this point.

Chetpet Belongs to a Separate Chennai Network

This catches many parents out. The Maharishi Vidya Mandir name is used by two quite different sets of schools. Chetpet’s own “Group of Schools” page lists roughly 70 schools across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, from Thiruneermalai and Nolambur in Chennai to Coimbatore, Erode, Madurai and Vellore, each run by a named local trust. These schools handle admissions on their own websites.

City pages such as MVM Hyderabad admission or MVM Guwahati admission also relate to that group, not to Chetpet. A form filled on any of those portals will not count for Maharishi Vidya Mandir Chetpet admission, and the reverse is equally true.

Before You Apply

The school has gone out of its way to warn parents about middlemen. Its notice states that no agency or individual other than the school management is authorised to handle admissions, and anyone who acts on such assurances does so at their own risk. It also says the school will not entertain admission queries in person or on the phone, so the website is the only reliable place to track the process.

Two small practical points. First, use an email address you check daily, because the confirmation mail and any call for verification will come through it. Second, keep 28 to 30 October free if you can. Those three days start the morning after the form closes, which leaves almost no slack for a family that is out of town.
