Several websites are already circulating subject-wise “2027” dates, but those lists are not from the board. Some of them are simply last year’s schedule with the year changed.

This page explains what has actually been announced, what the 2026 schedule looked like, and how to download the official PDF once it is out. We will update it when CGBSE releases the 2027 time table.

Going by last year, the 2027 time table could come out in the second half of November 2026, but the board has not confirmed any date. Treat any subject-wise 2027 schedule you see before then as unofficial.

What Last Year’s CGBSE 12th Time Table Looked Like

The 2026 Higher Secondary main exam schedule gives a fair idea of how CGBSE spreads the papers. The main subjects were scheduled as follows (subject codes in brackets). This is the 2026 schedule, not the 2027 one.

Date (2026)Main subjects
20 FebruaryGeography (102), Physics (201)
23 FebruaryPolitical Science (103), Chemistry (202), Accountancy (301) and some vocational subjects
25 FebruarySanskrit
27 FebruaryBiology, Economics (303) and related subjects
2 MarchMathematics, Computer Application (Arts and Commerce), Commercial Mathematics and others
7 MarchSociology (104)
10 MarchEnglish
12 MarchHistory (101), Business Studies (302) and others
14 MarchHindi
16 MarchNSQF vocational subjects
17 MarchOther language papers (Marathi, Urdu, Punjabi, Bengali, Gujarati, Telugu, Odia and more)
18 MarchPsychology (105)

Two things stand out. The science papers were spaced with gaps of two to four days, and the language papers came towards the end. Hindi and English were not the opening papers. If the 2027 schedule follows a similar pattern, science students should plan revision so that Physics, Chemistry and Biology are ready by mid-February.

The board later issued a revised time table for the Hindi paper, which was held again on 10 April 2026. It is a reminder that CGBSE can change dates after release, so always check the latest notice on the website.

Exam Timing and Reporting Rules

In 2026, every Class 12 paper ran from 9:00 am to 12:15 pm. The board’s notice broke the morning down like this:

  • 9:00 am: students take their seats
  • 9:05 am: answer books are handed out
  • 9:10 am: question papers are given out for reading
  • 9:15 am to 12:15 pm: writing time

The 2027 timing will be confirmed in the new time table and on the admit card. The 2026 notice also said that papers would go ahead as scheduled even if a holiday was declared on an exam day, and that the board could change dates if needed.

Practical Exams

Practical exams and project work for regular students are conducted at the school level before the theory papers, under instructions the board issues separately. CGBSE has not yet announced the practical exam window for 2027. Your school will share the dates, so keep your practical record files and project work complete well before January.

Private Students: 2027 Form Dates

CGBSE has already issued the form schedule for private (swadhyayi) candidates appearing in the 2027 main exams. According to the board’s letter dated 28 September 2026:

StageDates

With special late fee of Rs 2,00023 to 30 October 2026
Institutions submit forms and fees online31 October to 7 November 2026

How to Download the CGBSE 12th Time Table 2027 PDF

  1. Go to the official website, cgbse.nic.in.
  2. Look at the notice board (Soochna Patal) on the home page.
  3. Click the link for the Higher Secondary main examination 2027 time table when it appears.
  4. The PDF will open. Check the dates for your subjects using the subject codes.
  5. Download it and keep a printed copy on your study desk.

The board’s website itself carries a notice that cgbse.nic.in is its only official website. Do not rely on time tables shared on WhatsApp groups unless they match the PDF on that site.

Second Main Exam Option

CGBSE now runs two main examinations in a session under a gazette notification. In 2026, the board held a second main / opportunity exam for Class 10 and 12 after the annual exams, and its results have been declared. Students who miss a paper or want to improve their result may get that second chance again in 2027, subject to the board’s rules for the session.

Preparation Plan Until the Dates Are Out

  • Finish the syllabus by mid-December so that January is free for revision and practicals.
  • Practise previous years’ CGBSE question papers within the three-hour limit, since that matches the real exam.
  • Revise diagrams, maps and numerical problems daily for subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Geography and Accountancy.
  • Keep your practical records and project files ready and signed.
  • Check cgbse.nic.in once a week in November for the time table notice.

You can compare schedules across states in our Board Exam Time Table 2027 tracker. If you are also following CBSE, see the CBSE 12th Date Sheet 2027.
