GSEB Board Exam 2027: Gujarat SSC, HSC From 25 February

Gujarat’s Class 10 and Class 12 students have about four months left. The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB), Gandhinagar, has fixed the GSEB board exam 2027 window in its academic calendar for 2026-27: SSC (Std 10) and HSC (Std 12) papers will be held from Thursday, 25 February to Wednesday, 17 March 2027. The subject-wise timetable, with the paper for each day, has not been released as of 24 October 2026.

The window comes from the board’s calendar for the school year, which Deshgujarat reported on 3 May 2026 and which Sandesh also carried. The same calendar sets the dates for prelims, Std 12 Science practicals and the Diwali break, so every GSHSEB school in the state works to one clock. Below: what is fixed, what is still pending, and what last year’s timing suggests about when the paper-wise schedule may arrive.

GSEB Board Exam 2027 SSC & HSC Exam Dates

An academic calendar gives windows, not paper-wise days. Even so, it tells a Std 10 or Std 12 student most of what they need for planning the next five months. These are the board-linked dates in the GSHSEB calendar:

• First tests, Std 9 to 12: Thursday, 22 October to Monday, 2 November 2026 (they began on 22 October)
• Preliminary exams, Std 10 to 12: Monday, 18 January to Thursday, 28 January 2027
• School-level exam in board subjects: Monday, 1 February to Wednesday, 3 February 2027
• Std 12 Science practicals: Friday, 5 February to Saturday, 13 February 2027
• SSC and HSC board exams: Thursday, 25 February to Wednesday, 17 March 2027

The calendar does not split the window by class or stream. For 2026, the board’s announcement placed Std 10, Std 12 Science, General and Vocational streams, Sanskrit Prathama and Sanskrit Madhyama inside one combined window. Whether 2027 follows the same layout will be clear only when the timetable comes out.

GSEB 10th & 12th Exam Date 2027 Release Date

Not yet. When we checked on 24 October 2026, neither gseb.org nor the board’s e-services portal, gsebeservice.com, carried a timetable or any other notice for the 2027 main exams. The portal’s timetable list still showed the 2026 main exam schedule.

Last year’s sequence is the best guide available:

• GSEB announced the 2026 SSC and HSC schedule on Saturday, 8 November 2025.
• That first schedule ran from Thursday, 26 February to Monday, 16 March 2026. A revision in December 2025 for Dhuleti moved the last papers, so the 2026 exams ended on Wednesday, 18 March.
• The board put that schedule on gseb.org and asked students, parents and school principals to check it there.

If the board keeps a similar pace, the 2027 paper-wise schedule could appear in November, around the Diwali vacation. That is our reading of last year’s timing, not a board announcement.

How the 2027 Window Compares With 2026

Put the two years side by side and the change is small. The 2027 window opens one calendar date earlier than 2026 did and, once last year’s Dhuleti revision is counted, closes one date earlier as well. Both stretch over 21 days.

• Start: Thursday, 25 February 2027, against Thursday, 26 February 2026
• End: Wednesday, 17 March 2027, against Wednesday, 18 March 2026 (the original 2026 schedule ended on 16 March; the revision pushed it to 18 March)
• Length: 21 days in both years, counting both ends
• Paper-wise schedule: 2026 schedule announced on 8 November 2025 and revised in December 2025; the 2027 one is not announced yet

What the Calendar Means for GSEB Board Exam 2027 Candidates

The fixed dates leave clear gaps, and those gaps are where most of the revision will happen. A few things follow directly from the calendar:

• Prelims are the dress rehearsal. They end on 28 January, which leaves four weeks (28 days) before the first board paper on 25 February. Marks from the prelims will show which subjects need that time most.
• Std 12 Science has the tightest run. Practicals close on Saturday, 13 February; the theory window opens 12 days later. Journals and practical files are better finished before January.
• Diwali is the last long break. The 21-day vacation from 5 to 25 November is the only extended holiday before the boards. The first tests ending on 2 November will show where the gaps are.
• Use the board’s own question bank. gseb.org links a subject-wise question bank for Std 9 to 12 at questionbank.gseb.org. The download page asks for an index number and password, so ask your school for the files.
• Watch for the exam-form notice. Online exam registration for SSC and HSC runs on gsebeservice.com. No exam-form schedule for 2027 was posted there as of 24 October 2026, so the last date and fee are not known yet.

GSOS candidates

gseb.org currently lists GSOS registration for the November-December 2026 exams, one link for SSC (Std 10) and one for HSC General stream (Std 12), and gsebeservice.com carries the GSOS timetable for that session. These are separate from the February-March main board exams, so candidates should not mix up the two schedules.
